GHOne TV Journalist’s life in danger after exposing dangers of rail travel

He is a fast rising journalist in Ghana but his news reports appear to be creating the wrong attention for him. Nabil Ahmed Rufai as part of his work, exposed the dangers people are exposed to when they use the rickety train coaches from Accra to Nsawam. This forced authorities to ground the coaches after an Accra bound train from Tema derailed at Tesano due to the bad state of the rail tracks.

Months after this, the journalist also revealed that the Nsawam train coaches which were brought in Ghana in 1986 are undergoing rehabilitation and may soon be sent back on the rail tracks. Engineers however say the 32 year old train coaches are not fit to be back on the tracks.

Following these exposés, Nabil Ahmed Rufai’s life is under threat. He tells ghanagong.com that he has been receiving calls from unknown persons warning him to stop reporting on the Rail Sector in Ghana and putting the name of the ministry in disrepute.
