Ghana to get 70% of gas from Gas project

gas-projectThe Ghana gas plant is to cater for 70% of the country’s liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) needs when the plant comes on stream by the close of the year.

The Atuabo Gas project is about 99.87% complete as its moves from the engineering face to testing and commissioning face.

Minister of energy and Petroleum Emmanuel Amma Kofi Buah reacting to a question on the availability of LPG to rural folks who are receiving free gas cylinders in an interaction with the media says the jubilee fields gas would be processed by the Ghana Gas company which would make the country the hub for gas production for the West African sub region in the coming years.

“The good news is that in the coming years we a going to have a lot of liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in this country. This is because the Ghana Gas project this is an LPG component that would supply 70% of the country’s needs we think that is very important and so that is good for the future of the country”
