Financial Analyst Sidney Casley Hayford has noted that government faces an uphill task of accelerating the revenue stream in order to generate more income to fund government expenses as being demanded by the IMF.
He says government requires an estimated 30 billion Ghana cedis to fund its budget but currently is able to generate about 20 billion.
To cover this shortfall the International Monitory Fund has among other things asked government to generate additional revenue to support its expenditure.
But Sidney Casley Hayford says the IMF’s demand is unrealistic.
Speaking to Ultimate Radio, the financial analyst insists it will be most difficult for government to meet what the IMF is asking to do.
He notes that the easy option is for government to cut down on its expenses
