Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been called on to elect competent and loyal people from constituency, regional and national levels if the party wants to win the upcoming 2020 general elections.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper in Kumasi over the weekend, Mr Francis Adomako, a regional organiser hopeful for Ashanti said it was important for the party to have good leaders at all levels.
This, he stressed would make it easy for the party to prosecute a better campaign for the next General elections in 2020.
Many having seen the party has become attractive to the electorate would seek to contest for positions available but cautioned delegates to elect the competent amongst those who would show up, Mr Adomako disclosed.
Mr Adomako, a university lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST) asked delegates to choose people with loyal backgrounds in the upcoming constituency, regional and national election.
According to him, it was better to choose a loyal person who was competent to lead than someone who only has cash to lure people for a position.
The 2020 general election, Mr Adomako noted would be a difficult one for the NPP since the public would have had the chance to gauge the governance style of the party as compared to the previous NDC government.
He therefore rallied the party to elect people of proven track record to positions available for contest so as to enable it to consolidate the needed support to continue in government from 2020.
Francois, as the organizer hopeful is referred to as by party faithful urged the NPP to present a formidable front in the next election.
This, he said would be an essential element to ensuring the prosecution of a better campaign in 2020.
According to him, people are attracted by the kind of personalities that lead a campaign, adding it was important to present sincere people to the electorate.
Ghanaians, he stressed had become more intelligent in what they want and who they would like to be in charge of their destinies for the next four years and therefore the need to give them better options to choose from the lot around.
