Establish libraries at radio stations to aid programming-Media owners told

The Public Relations Officer for Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Opare Addo is calling for the establishment of educational libraries in all media houses to encourage learning and research for quality broadcasting.

He has also urged all media broadcasters to conduct effective research to enable Ghanaians enjoy quality programs on the airwaves. The Sports Journalist also wants to see more specialization among on air broadcasters who would practice broadcast journalism on strict journalistic standards and objectivity.

Opare Addo said this in an interview ahead of their game against Samatex Sporting Club at Samreboi. The final results ended 4-2 on penalties against the Continental Club masters in the ongoing MTN FA Cup encounter.

Almost all radio stations have a chunk of songs on computers and in back up forms but interestingly, many presenters work under unfavorable conditions to gather credible information before they can deliver effectively, due to the seemingly non-existence of modern libraries that will enable better research by presenters for them to present quality educational programs towards national development.

Opare Addo also called on media practitioners to make learning and research a central part of their operations. The Hearts of Oak PRO is urging sports presenters to increase their coverage and treatment of local sports events and programs.
