Physical Exercise profits a lot-KATH CEO

Ghana News-The acting Chief Executive Officer for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Dr Oheneba Owusu-Danso has encouraged the public to inculcate physical exercises in their scheme of things.

This, he noted enables one to keep fit and avoid sudden deaths as a result of bad eating habits or lack of exercise.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper after participating in the hospital’s annual inter department games at the Kumasi Academy school park, Dr Danso advised staff, workers as well as the public to carefully observe regimes in physical exercises to keep their bodies in shape.

According to him, the adherence of good eating habits alone cannot solve all the challenges that comes to the human body and therefore urged for the addition of physical exercises.

‘’It is important that as humans we take particular interest in physical exercises so that whiles we burn some of the fat inside our bodies we also keep our bodies in good shapes’’, Dr Danso reiterated.

PLANS:

The KATH boss indicated the determination of the hospital to make use of holidays that come up in the country’s calendar.

The holidays, he noted will be avenues for the hospital staff to engage in physical and social activities so as to help workers keep fit.

He noted the continuance of games it hosts with the participation of other social and commercial entities in the metropolis.

These corporate games, he noted brings unity as well as bond of friendship between KATH staff and workers of other companies in the Kumasi city.

OUTCOME:

At the end of the games, ‘Team C’ representing supply chain, bio-diagnostics and internal audit departments finished top with 5points taking home the glittering trophy at stake.

Placing second at the heels of the winner was Team B which comprised of security, domestics and oral health who bagged a total of 4points at the end of games that included ludo, oware, sack race, lime and spoon, football and others.

Team D, which was composed of workers at the surgery, trauma, finance and orthopedic departments finished third with 3points.

Finishing fourth was a composition of workers from the child health, research, anesthesia and quality assurance who surprisingly managed a paltry 2points from the games they competed in.
