Don’t tamper with delegates list-John Boadu cautions

The Acting General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Mr John Boadu has cautioned constituency executives as well as Members of Parliament not to do anything out of their way to remove or delete the names of delegates from the party’s existing polling station albums.

According to him, it is never the duty or responsibility of party executives or MPs to choose who they feel qualifies to be delegates or members of the voting class of the party.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper in Kumasi after donating some food items and drinks to two children’s homes, namely the Kumasi Children’s Home and the Boadi King Jesus Charity Home, Mr Boadu said it was never the duty of anybody in the NPP to look for his favorites and make them delegates.

”I want to make things clear to members of our party that no matter your position be it party executive or MP you have no right to take out the name or names of persons who are already on the delegates list of our party”, Mr Boadu noted.

He stressed the current members who have their names as delegates in the constituency albums cannot be changed by any person in the NPP except fresh elections were held to determine otherwise.

SUBIN CASE:
Touching on the recent impasse at the Subin Constituency of the party in the Ashanti Region, the Acting General Secretary expressed surprise at what transpired at their delegates conference.

He wondered why some people in the constituency feel they have the right to determine who is made a delegate in the party.

”I have summoned the party executives as well as the MP for Subin to appear before me tomorrow and explain to me the cause of their disagreement and conflict”, the acting GS disclosed.

He explained that no one was above the party’s constitution, adding the party would not countenance any acts of indiscipline or lawlessness in the conduct of its activities.

APPEAL
Highlighting the toils of the party’s grass-root supporters and communication officers, Mr Boadu called for calm and assured them of resources in due course.

He promised to ensure whatever is due them is provided them to ensure they work more effectively in their fields.

Mr Boadu urged party members to rally behind the party as it rolls out programs and policies that would ensure the economy bounces back to its feet.

”This is the sixth month as government and I can assure you that the programs and policies we are implementing would soon turn around our economy which was unfortunately left in bad shape by the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC)”, the acting General Secretary posited.
