Daylight robbery: Gun wielding men storm Yendi market

Ghana Crime News-Residents of Yendi say they are yet to recover from their shock following an armed robbery attack that occurred Tuesday.

Rawgist.com’s sources in Yendi say two young men suspected to be of fulani extraction stormed the market around 5:20 in the evening wielding guns.

Sualisu Iddrisu Sapashini who witnessed the incident tells rawgist.com the two entered the shop of one Kofi Manu (also known as “So many Ways”) who trades in plastic wares and exchanges currencies.

“They went through the motions of exchanging some currency and one of them pulled out a gun in the process and took a bag containing an undisclosed amount of money. The other one who was waiting with a gun fired indiscriminately ostensibly to disperse the crowd”, he explained.

They fled with the money on a motor bike that headed in the Bimbilla direction.

Three people were wounded with one in very critical condition.
