Officials at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST), a state outfit under the Ministry of Energy on Monday donated a total of five thousand exercise books to 975 pupils at the Kaase Basic and Junior High school in the Asokwa Municipality.
In a brief presentation ceremony at the precincts of the school, BOST officials who were joined by the Chiefs of the town handed over the books to the school authorities.
The BOST team together with the Chiefs and teachers of the school later went to all the classrooms to physically hand over the books to the pupils.
Each basic school pupil received five (5) exercise books ? including those at the Junior High School.

Daniel Asiedu, 10 year old basic 4 pupil could not hide his joy on seeing the BOST branded books ?.
He told this reporter that “some of my books are torn and so having new ones from officials of BOST is exciting”.
Gloria Dankwa, 11 year old Junior High School pupil showing profuse happiness said, “I am delighted to have fresh books ? to undertake my class work”.
She thanked BOST for their thoughtfulness and pleaded that they extend same gesture to all schools in Asokwa.

Speaking to the media, Yaw Antwi Dadzie, Head of Relations, Protocol and Corporate Social Responsibility at BOST said his outfit undertakes these gestures periodically throughout the year.
He noted that this year BOST had embarked on a project dubbed give 100 thousand books ? to schools.
The aim, he noted was to support pupils at communities where BOST has its installations across the country with a total of 100, 000 books.
“This year we are giving out 100 thousand books to pupils at our impacted communities across Ghana ?? and this is in addition to the 50 persons we were catering for at the University of Mines and Energy (UMat)where we are paying 1.5 million for their 4 year training”, Mr Dadzie noted.

Representative of the Kaasehene, Nana Mensah Bonsu thanked the BOST team for the gesture.
“I pray that companies who are doing business across Ghana ?? and were thriving would show similar support to the communities in which they are operating”.
Headmistress:
Headmistress of the JHS, Madam Rita Dela Hudakpor thanked the BOST team for their generous gesture.
“I am grateful to BOST for this gesture but i would like to appeal to them for laptops to stock the pupils library to ensure that they learn the practical aspect of the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) examinable course they were undertaking than only the theory aspect which we teach in this school”.
Present at the ceremony were the Asokwa Municipal Director of Education, Reverend Ebenezer Oteng Marfo and the Assembly member for the area, Hon Akwasi Danso(Kakap3).
