BOST will deal decisively with encroachment and threats of fire at Kumasi depot

Kingsley-Awuah-DarkoManaging Director of BOST, Kwame Awuah-Darko has indicated strongly his company’s resolve to eliminate the threats posed by encroachers and a timber company bordering its Kase depot in Kumasi.

The company uses a boiler with open flames; a situation that poses a grave danger to workers of the depot, the highly inflammable products and other installations.

Kwame Awuah-Darko tells rawgist.com in an interview that the company is already taking steps to relocate the timber company and deal decisively with the issue of encroachment.

“We have worked closely with the Kaasehene and the security agencies well thus far and I can assure you that the situation will be curtailed very soon”, he said, adding that a buffer zone will be created around the depot to alleviate all threats of fire.

He was speaking on the sidelines of a football gala held by the NDC for zongo communities in Kumasi.
