BHOBU POGA WALKS IN MEMORY OF FALLEN SOLDIERS AND GEMS

Old students of Bishop Herman College (BIHECO) and and their female counterparts, OLA Girls School are embarking on a health walk across the globe in memory of their departed old students. Slated for Saturday, 3rd July, 2021, the two old students’ associations viz. Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU) and Past OLA Girls Association (POGA) shall converge at their various zones across the globe at 5:30am to commence the walk.

According to the chairman of BHOBU Games Planning Committee, John-Paul Adjadeh, it is expected that every old student takes time off their busy schedules to keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle as well as to promote camaraderie among old students of the two top-flight Volta Region schools. As part of the activities, a minute of silence shall be observed in memory of departed old students.

John-Paul added, “COVID-19 has prevented us from meeting annually at BHOBU Games like we used to… But as soldiers we are taught to overcome obstacles and survive! Just look out for your zonal routes and join in the fun… and guess what? you can bring a friend or family member along!” He entreated all and sundry to make it a date to attend this year’s Global Health Walk which is also aimed at promoting good health and well-being, as well as sensitizing the public on the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle so as to reduce cardiovascular diseases. He further assures members that plans are far advanced for the strict adherence to the COVID 19 safety protocols.
