Ashanti NDC Executive election and how things stand

NDCAs the National Democratic Congress’ delegates in Ashanti Region gears up for polls Tuesday to elect regional executives for the next four years the race is getting fierce and indications are that some “big fishes” might loose to their relatively small contenders.

Among the hottest positions fiercely under heavy contest is the chairmanship post. It is a two horse-race between the incumbent Yaw Obimpeh and Thomas Kwabena Brimah.

Information gleaned by this reporter indicates the incumbent will struggle to maintain his position as many in the party are calling for change.

Some party delegates at constituency levels have already hinted “we want change in the chairmanship race, however we will elevate our acting secretary to become substantive and maintain others who can win us power in 2016”.

“We believe maintaining some will increase the number of our votes in the region.” The secretaryship contest is between Mike Ametor, Regional Executive member in the party and the Acting secretary Raymond Tandoh.

rawgist.com’s Kwabena Danso-Dapaah gathered the party’s Communications director in the region, Samad Akalilu is ahead of incumbent Justice Alfa for the propaganda secretary position.

Many delegates this reporter spoke to admire Samad Akalilu’s contribution to the party in the region and hinted to vote him massively.

On the organizer post, it is between incumbent Alhaji Saini and one Rashed Alhassan. We, however can report that it’s an open contest to both candidates.
