Agya Atta was returning home after watching a video show at a nearby town called Adom wo wim on Saturday night when he was attacked.
He was inflicted with cutlass wounds and had his hand cutoff during the botched robbery attack.
An eyewitness who only gave his name as James, told Adom News the boy managed to escape and was rushed to the St. Francis hospital in Assin Fosu by passersby.
Due to the severity of the injury, Agya Atta has been transferred to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching hospital in Kumasi for treatment.
Meanwhile, Chief of Assin Nkwanta, Nana Kojo Bruce expressed regret at the unfortunate incident.
“This is very strange to me because this brutality has never happened in my town before; it is sad,” he bemoaned.
Nana Kojo Bruce said the young boy is still alive and is hoping the doctors can save his arm.
