Yiadom Boakye, friends donate to Cherubs orphanage

A student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a NUGS Presidential hopeful, Emmanuel Yiadom Boakye accompanied by his friends on Monday, the 6th of January donated exercise books, erasers and pencils to the Cherubs Orphanage at Santasi.

The gesture forms part of activities by the NUGS Presidential hopeful to compliment the Free Basic School Policy at the lower levels.

Presenting the items at a brief ceremony at the campus of the orphanage, YB as the NUGS Presidential hopeful is referred to noted his desire to give to the underprivileged.

The items presented he stressed were chosen to enable the kids at the Orphanage carry out the basic exercises they do in class.

“As a student myself and having gone through basic education previously in my early days my team and I recognised the need of such items at this orphanage so as to help the kids carry out their daily routine in class”, YB intimated.

OTHER PLANS:
Master YB indicated his readiness to extend such gestures to both the Junior and senior high schools in and around the country.

He noted the team has outlined plans to carry out such acts of kindness vigorously this year.

The NUGS presidential hopeful said the plan is to compliment the Free SHS policy as introduced by the Nana Addo government.

Revealing for the first time, YB noted that he intends to contest the NUGS presidency again, adding that it is a clarion call on him by students across universities in the country.

“I upon sober reflection want to respond to the call by many well wishers and students across the country for me to contest for the NUGS presidency again so that I can implement the face saving and welfare driven policies I outlined in my manifesto in 2019”, YB intimated.

APPRECIATION:
Expressing appreciation on behalf of her colleagues, Seven year old Clementina Adarkwa thanked team YB and friends for the gesture.

She said they read and write every day in class.

The pencils and erasers, she said would help them write and also erase properly when they make mistakes.

She asked for God’s blessing on the NUGS Presidential hopeful so that he can get the opportunity to serve at the highest level.

“We write and read and these things Mr YB has given to us will help us do exactly that every day”, Clementina noted with a shaky voice.
