Tema Development Corporation(TDC) Board tasked to implement Comprehensive Housing Policy.
The Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has urged the Board of the Tema Development Corporation(TDC) to pursue a comprehensive and responsive national policy framework aimed at providing accessible housing solutions for all Ghanaians, particularly the underserved.
During the inauguration of the board last Friday in Accra, the Minister emphasized the importance of incorporating cost-sharing mechanisms, targeted government subsidies, fiscal incentives and public-private partnerships into the housing strategy.
He stated, “All these must be pursued in close working relationship with the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) to determine measurable and ambitious Key Performance Indicators, which will serve as a strategic compass and operational benchmark for continuous improvement of TDC.”
As TDC expands its operations beyond the Tema Acquisition Area, Mr. Adjei assured the Board of the Ministry’s commitment to facilitating access to state lands and promoting equitable negotiations with traditional Authorities and efficiently deploy statutory land acquisitions mechanisms.
The seven-member Board, chaired by Hon. Isaac Odamtten (MP), includes Courage K. M. Nunekpeku (Managing Director), Ebenezer Sam, Adam Awal, Rev. Mrs. Barbara L. Ayensu, Elliot Gordor, and Abdul Gafaru Ali Esq.
