Suspect feigns madness to disrupt court hearing

jail-prisonA 29 year—old farmer, Ameyaw Abraham feigned insanity at the Techiman Circuit Court when his case
was called for hearing.

The accused was sent to court after he brandished a cutlass and threatened to slash the accused if he entered their family house.

ASP Edmund Badu Agyemang prossecuting told the court presided over by His Honor Daniel Kwaku Obeng that, the plaintiff, Daniel Agyei resides with the accused at Bonomanso.

On the 2nd February, around 5pm, the complainant went to the accused’s father’s house for business discussion only to meet the accused who threatened him with a cutlass and denied him entry.

It took the shouts of the accused’s mother to rescue Daniel Agyei from what could have been a bloody scene.

The accused was sent to the police by the residents who came into the rescue of the complainant.

The drama caused by the accused in court as he feigned madness forced the court to go on compulsory recess.

The accused’s mother told rawgist.com’s reporter, Agya Yaw Nimako that her son had never exhibited any signs of madness since birth and was very astonished at her son’s behavior.

The court resumed sitting but accused’s drama continued unabated causing the court to adjourn the case to 4th March for medical examination of the brains of the accused.

Meanwhile the accused has been remanded into prison custody.
