Samia could be punished for being a sour loser-Prof. Delle

Ivor-SamiaThe newly elected flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has rubbished claims of buying votes to emerge as the winner in the Saturday polls. Mr. Greenstreet won over fellow compatriots Samia Yaba Nkrumah, Joseph Agyapong and Lawyer Bright Akwetey.

Ivor Greenstreet polled 1288 representing 64.21% as his opponents in the election shared the rest of the votes. Samia Nkrumah in an interview just after the declaration accused Ivor Greenstreet of “buying votes” to get his way through.

Samia’s comment has attracted various reactions from within and outside the party. Speaking to the media, the national chairman of the party, Prof. Edmund Delle has hinted of a possible punishment to be meted out to Samia Nkrumah since all aspirants agreed to support the one who emerges as the winner after the polls.

The excited Flagbearer elect of the CPP however describes the claims of not winning the election on merit as as unfortunate and out of “self-delusion”.

To further justify how much he deserves it, he stated that in 2007, he was the only neutral candidate to contest for the CPP general secretary position since all the presidential aspirants had their preferred candidates but he won surprisingly. Again, in 2011, he was the only incumbent who was re-elected.

He believes that his surprise win as the flagbearer of the CPP will translate into a surprise win in November 7, General elections.

He made this statement on Super Morning Show on Joy FM on Monday.
