CPP says merger with PNC is top on its agenda towards 2016 elections

The Conventions People’s Party says talks on the merger between the party and the People’s National Convention are set to begin samiasoon.

The two Nkrumaists party have on many occasions considered merging to increase the prospects of winning political power in the country.

Moves to consummate a union by the respective leadership of the two parties in the run up to the 2012 elections were botched at the last minute due to lack of support by the party members. The failure was also partly attributed to the lack of commitment to sealing a deal.

However National Chairperson of the CPP Madam Samia Yaba Nkrumah has told rawgist.com the merger is top on CPP’s agenda as it begins preparations towards the 2016 elections.

She believes a merger would help the party win the 2016 elections.
