A 48-year-old pastor has been remanded into police custody by the Asante Akropong Circuit Court in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District for allegedly spreading false information about the founder of the Philadelphia Church.
Emmanuel Boachie, who has pleaded not guilty to charges including the publication of false news and offensive conduct likely to breach the peace, is scheduled to reappear before the court, presided over by Mrs. Gloria Mensah Bonsu, on April 30, 2025.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Albert Asagre, the complainant in the case is Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, the Founder and Leader of the Believers Worship Center – Philadelphia at Kumasi Kenyasi.
The accused, who serves as Pastor of Souls Pasture Church and also holds the position of Principal and Country Director at Awesome Bible College in Achiase, reportedly published defamatory content about the complainant on April 13, 2025. Through WhatsApp, TikTok, and Facebook, Boachie accused Prophet Kyei-Duah of being a false prophet, thief, murderer, anti-Christ, and a corrupt influence on Christian teachings.
The video quickly spread across social media platforms, prompting the complainant to file a report with Kumasi Tafo Police. During initial investigations, Boachie allegedly admitted to making the statements and was formally charged while further investigations continue.
