Ghanaian stand-up comedian; DKB says the comparison between Nigerian stand-up comedy and Ghanaian comedy will continue for a long time with Nigerians maintaining a strong lead because Ghanaians watched Nigerians and started doing comedy.

“Comparing the two, I’d say Nigeria has a comedy industry whiles Ghana has something like a comedy compound house”, he told rawgist.com’s Bernard Buachi, adding that Nigeria is going to continue to dominate comedy as far as the two countries are concerned for a long time. He was however happy stand-up comedy is growing gradually in
Ghana.

DKB also sougt to differentiate stand-up comedy from other forms of comic crafts saying; “a stand-up comedian does a monologue as opposed to comic actors and stand-by comedians. Stand-up comedians stand on stage alone with a microphone and make people laugh”.

DKB, David Aglah, Foster Romanus and Khemikal are expected to hit the Ashanti regional capital on Friday 25th September, 2015 in what is expected to be the largest comedy event in a long time within the Ashanti region.

DKB explains that the event which takes place at the Golden Bean Hotel is part of their effort to spread stand-up comedy to other parts of the country outside Accra.

When asked what residents of the Ashanti region should expect, he said ” there are things about the Ashanti region that have not yet been said and we are going to speak the unspeakable and unforbid the forbidden”.
