Loyal Ladies clean parts of Kumasi ahead of Prince Charles’ visit

Loyal ladies, a dynamic female group within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) early this morning cleaned and cleared all debris inside gutters around the Airport roundabout through to the principal streets of the Manhyia Palace.

The exercise was carried out ahead of the visit of the Prince of England, who is billed to visit the Kumasi Metropolis and the Manhyia Palace on Sunday.

Participating in the exercise was the Mayor of Kumasi, Osei Assibey Antwi, Ashanti Regional NPP Organizer Francis Adomako, and members of the Ashanti Regional Branch of the loyal ladies as well as many NPP sympathizers.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Martha Kodua, a General of the loyal ladies group explained that the clean up exercis was in support of the idea by the Kumasi Mayor to clean and green the Kumasi metropolis.

‘’We as a group are committed to ensuring the success of the Kumasi Mayor’s agenda for a clean and green Kumasi and since the Prince of England is coming to visit our metropolis we deemed it necessary to welcome him with a clean environment’’.

MAYOR:

Commending the group, the Kumasi Mayor expressed appreciation to the group for their sense of commitment to the development of the metropolis.

He noted one way of showing love for the Kumasi City was to ensure it is clean at all times.

The Loyal Ladies group, Mr Assibey disclosed have been supportive of the agenda by the KMA to clean and green the city.

The Mayor said the group has shown to the public that one can use clean up exercises to educate others on why and how to keep their surroundings clean at all times.

‘’I am proud to say that Loyal Ladies like many others in the NPP party have bought into the KMA’s agenda of keeping the city clean and green and it is refreshing that they chose today to clean the place the Prince of England will be visiting on Sunday’’, the KMA boss intimated.

REGIONAL ORGANIZER:

Mr Francis Adomako, Ashanti Regional NPP organizer on behalf of the NPP praised the ladies group for their vision and foresight.

He noted anybody or group or group of persons that are committed to making the environment clean at all times are true patriots.

Loyal ladies, the regional organizer noted are undeniably a patriotic group which participates and organizes activities aimed at helping develop the society and to showing care to the vulnerable.

He, therefore, called for support from individuals and government appointees for the group so they can get resources to carry out its human interest and social programs.

‘’I urge everyone in the NPP to look at the activities of the Loyal ladies group and support them with resources that can enable them carry out their mandate and benevolent acts’’, Mr Adomako passionately appealed.
