I Will Be ‘Hugely Disappointed’ In Kwarasey If… – Dauda

daudaGhana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says he will be ‘hugely disappointed’ in his Black Stars team-mate Adam Kwarasey if he said the shot-stoppers’ trainer is not fit for the position in the wake of the team’s exit at the 2014 World Cup.

Kwarasey launched a scathing attack on Black Stars goalkeepers coach Nassam Yakubu this week claiming the ex-Hearts of Oak goalkeeper must be sacked from the national team.

The Norway-based goalkeeper has been on the war-path since losing his starting place to Dauda at the 2014 World Cup after being dropped from the Black Stars starting team against Germany.

Kwarasey described Nassam Yakubu as lacking the requisite quality to propel the team.

The goalkeeper says he is considering his international career three years after opting to star for the Black Stars unless the technical direction of the team is changed.

The goalkeeper told GNA Sports that one does not need to be an astronaut to know Nassam is poor quality.

However, Dauda is surprised at the claims of Kwarasey insisting that the competence of Nassam is what led him to the post of the Black Stars.

“If it is true that Kwarasey said that Nassam is not a good goalkeepers trainer, I will be very disappointed in him,” Dauda told Happy FM on Wednesday morning.

“We have been training with Nassam for about two years now so I am surprised to have heard that Adam said this. If indeed he said this, why is he making this public now and not previously?” The Orlando Pirates goalkeeper asked.

“I have known Nassam for a long time and I don’t have a problem with his style of training. His style is normally of what we are to expect in matches and this works for us.

After staying on the bench in the match against USA, Dauda kept the post for Ghana in the matches against Germany and Portugal. However, he could not help the Black Stars to progress beyond the group stages.

Kwarasey, who has over 20 caps for the Black Stars since earning a call-up in 2011, have been battling with Dauda for the chance to be Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper.
