Ho Teaching Hospital to receive a 500-bed facility
A delegation from the Ho Teaching Hospital and the Yonsei University-Industry Consortium in Korea has met with the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, to discuss expanding the hospital’s 500-bed facility.
The facility, which will include state-of-the-art medical infrastructure and a specialized spinal surgery unit when completed, will position the Ho Teaching Hospital as a leading medical hub in the Volta Region.
During the meeting on Tuesday, the delegation presented Mr. Gunu with a feasibility report highlighting a work plan for a 200 million USD expansion project from Accra.
According to the delegation, the project will enhance health delivery in the region as well as provide the needed academic and professional support for the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) and other institutions.
Professor So Yoon Kim on the Korean team expressed optimism about the collaboration, noting that the Korean Government has worked with Ghana for years and hopes to see the partnership continue and grow.
The Regional Minister urged the delegation to broadly engage all stakeholders involved to ensure smooth execution of the project to enhance the health development in the region.
