Mr Francis OWUSU-AKYAW, an international minerals expert has finally filed his nomination forms at the Juaben constituency office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Cheered on by about 200 delegates and party faithful, the calm NPP man walked through the principal streets before storming the party office to file.
With shouts of his name reverberating the offices of the party, Mr Akyaw presented his bankers draft of the stipulated fee for first time aspirants as well as certificates of his profession and work experiences to the constituency chairman, Alex Sarfo Kantanka.
Beaming with smiles during the brief ceremony, Mr Akyaw did the victory sign amidst cheers from the large crowd that had thronged the venue.
Receiving the forms, Mr Kantanka commended the aspirant for abiding by the rules of the party.
He commended Mr Akyaw for fulfilling all the requirements of the process.
The chairman also commended the aspirant for comporting himself well.
He asked that before and after the vetting same attitude should be displayed by all aspirants and their team members in the constituency.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper later, Mr Akyaw said it was fulfilling to have the opportunity to file and seek the mandate of the delegates of the party to serve.
He noted that the NPP is a party he loves and was committed to using its platform of MP to serve the people of Juaben.
Having seen so much underdevelopment in the ancient community, the minerals expert stated his commitment to use his office as MP to lobby for more development projects for the Juaben constituency.
He pledged to operate an open door policy where constituents would have the opportunity to meet up and discuss issues of development for the community.
“I come into this contest with an open heart and a resolve to work with the people of this great party so that together we can attain development and progress for our people”, Mr Akyaw posited.
