Focus FM Journalists win big at KNUST Eminence awards

Three Focus FM journalists emerged winners in various categories at the maiden KNUST Eminence awards held on Friday Night at the Gardeners Conference room in KNUST.

Friday’s event which marked the maiden edition of the prestigious student awards also crowned Focus FM’s dryve show as the best radio show of the year.

Irene Pomaa Kumi won the best news anchor of the year.

Abenakay Yiadom and the Focus FM Dryve team received over 5 awards in more than 5 categories including Best radio show host of the year, the Best radio show of the year, the best producer of the year among others.

These journalists emerged topmost in their categories from over 50 entries spanning the various competitive categories, student personality of the year, best student entrepreneur of the year.

The awards which adjudged John Essien, the News Editor of Focus FM, Outstanding Student Journalist of the year, “provide a platform to recognize students who excel in various niches outside the lecture halls that otherwise may not have been recognized — be it in their talents; music, poetry, fashion, humanitarian, entrepreneurial skills and the likes.
