Some observers, who spoke to this reporter, mentioned that Kofi Jumah has about 200 people among the current constituency delegates, leaving the rest totaling about 500 to be fought over by the incumbent and the medical doctor.

MAMA PAT:

Interestingly, at a meeting with some Atonsu-Agogo delegates last weekend, Madam Patricia Appiagyei announced for the first time her decision to go for a third term bid as MP for Asokwa.

According to her, the constituency needs more development than what it is seeing now and that is what she will concentrate her efforts on from this time.

With the creation and inauguration of Asokwa as a municipality, Madam Appiagyei believes the work of lobbying for development for Asokwa will become easy since the Assembly would partner her to seek for more projects for the elite community.

Despite being heckled in her address at the meeting by one banker and delegate, the calm MP described the actions of some current constituency executives as backward and de-motivating.

‘’I am resolved to seek for a third term bid as MP for Asokwa so that I can continue to lobby for more development projects for Asokwa and ensure every area in this constituency get what is due it’’, Madam Appiagyei noted.

FRICTION:

Mincing no words when he addressed the gathering, Papa Yaw Asare-Bediako John, the Asokwa constituency secretary of the NPP admitted that there is friction among the constituency executives.

This, he noted has affected the administration of the constituency since there is no peace for one to work with.

According to him, the incumbent chairman, Rev. Fosu Nkromah and others perceived to be on his side have been seeking to have their way and nothing else at executive meetings.

This attitude, the secretary opined if not checked will render the executives disunited and hinder them from carrying out the mandate given to them by delegates and members of the party.
