Emmanuel Osei Gyamfi is our favourite-Nwabiagya North Chiefs, youth cry out

Ghana News–Some chiefs and youth at the newly created Atwima Nwabiagya-North District of the Ashanti Region have appealed to the President to make Emmanuel Osei Gyamfi, a development consultant and native of Atwima Koforidua as the District Chief Executive of the area.

The chief’s choice, per the paper’s investigation is part of the current aspiring DCEs who were grilled by the Peter MacManu vetting committee in Accra last week.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper on condition of anonymity, three chiefs in the Barekese area noted the choice of Mr Gyamfi apart from his competence will also bring geographical balance to the district since every appointment so far favors people from the Barekese zone.

The Chiefs believe the Atwima Koforidua resident has the requisite knowledge and capacity to oversee the area’s development having been part of the process to make the Nwabiagya North a District.

YOUTH:

Speaking to this reporter, some youthful elements in the area testified about the industry of the Human development consultant, Emmanuel Gyamfi.

They pointed to his involvement in all development projects in the newly created district from his days as TESCON member and Communications member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Abraham Agyen, a resident at Barekese said of the names they have mentioned for a possible DCE for the area Emmanuel Gyamfi has made his vision plain to them.

He said the youth can’t wait to see the establishment of a Ceramic Tile factory at the clay soil dominated district.

‘’Emmanuel Osei Gyamfi has laid out his vision to us and from the plans he has for us he can best help the youth get employment with the establishment of a Tile factory in our area’’, Mr Agyen noted.

BACKGROUND:

The Atwima Nwabiagya North District was recently carved out of the Atwima Nwabiagya District by the New Patriotic Party.

Inaugurated recently, the community is a stronghold of the NPP and boasts of agriculture as the dominant profession amongst its people.

The town has large portions of clayey soil deposits as sand winning activities are rampant in the communities of the district.

Currently, six aspirants are vying to occupy the seat as chief executive of the newly created district and these are Doris Appiah, Emmanuel Osei Gyamfi, a development consultant, Kennedy Awuah Gyawu, Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh, Rebecca Yeboah and Assibey Bonsu Osei.

Meanwhile, results of the vetting exercise are expected to be out on Tuesday and submitted to the President.

The President, our checks indicate is scheduled to make an announcement of who his nominee will be later in the month.
