Deploy technology to address value chain challenges in Agriculture in Africa-Agric Entrepreneur

Addressing challenges within the value chain of Africa’s agriculture should be the focus of African social Enterprise.

This is according to Ms. Lilian Uwintwali; multiple award winner in the field of agricultural entrepreneurship.

She suggests in an interview with incubation tv that information communication technology should be deployed as a tool in making agriculture and related products attractive. She says agriculture in the 21st century can only thrive on innovation.

She calls on the youth within Africa to build partnerships that will empower them with the needed infrastructure and technology for sustainable expansion.

Ms. Lilian Uwintwali is a graduate of the University of Rwanda College of Science and technology and multiple award winner in the field of Agriculture. Some of her laurels include the Haward G. Buffet foundation award, the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative (AGI) and the World Food Prize Foundation award.

Her company Agro-FIBA, currently provides services to over 3,000 smallholder farmers using the internet and text messaging to boost e-extension services,market and innovative financing of various agribusinesses.
