Delayed start to League worrying – Dramani

DramaniAsante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has described the delayed start to the First Capital Plus Premier League as most worrying and strenuous on the plans and schedules of clubs.

Dramani told GNA Sports that “The strain the delay has brought on clubs, our plans and schedules cannot be quantified. The uncertainties have thrown out of gear our time table and every preparation a club requires to enter a new season.

“Per the initial programs, it was expected that the league will have been entering its eight week currently. But the delay has ensured that we are yet to even know when this will end for the League to begin.

“It requires ten weeks for any team to undergo decent preseason training. Now we have moved beyond that period and even enter different phases of preparation and that, is very difficult on all of us presently.”

Dramani said “Currently, we are compelled to fall on other training methods to ensure the team can steadily stay in shape without peaking too early or sliding in form even before the League finally commences.

The Premier League was originally scheduled to start on September 24, but was postponed indefinitely after owner and bankroller of King Faisal; Alhaji Karim Grusah took the Ghana Football Association (GFA), to court.

Grusah is challenging King Faisal’s relegation in the 2013/14 Premier League after claiming Aduana Starts defaulted in paying a fine incurred from a protest they lost to Hearts of Oak last season.

According to the GFA’s status, any club that failed to honour a fine within 14 days would automatically forfeit points from matches played afterwards.

If applied and points are deducted from Aduana Stars for the breach as stipulated by the status, King Faisal will automatically avoid relegation.
