Dramani has to train with us to earn a deal – Kotoko

HaminuA member of the Communications team of League and Cup double holders Asante Kotoko, Ali Maradona says former Black Stars forward Haminu Dramani needs to make himself available for training with the team before he can earn a deal with the club.

In an exclusive interview with footy-ghana.com, Maradona revealed that the club was contacted by representatives of Dramani, who has represented Ghana in three African nations Cup tournaments and the 2006 World Cup, but insisted that club coach Mas-Ud Dramani has to run the rule over him before any decision can be made.

“We were contacted by a representative of Haminu Dramani and we made our position clear to them. We know the Haminu of old but can’t be sure of his form but if he is willing to join us in training for observation by Coach Didi Dramani, then something could be on.

“We are not saying he is not a good player; if he will come and train with us and he proves he is the same player we know, we don’t have a problem [signing him] but to sign him straight away for Didi? No!”

Maradona also told footy-ghana.com that former Ghana youth international Daniel Addo was also touted to the Porcupine Warriors, but after his representatives were told of the club’s stance, Addo left for Accra. Maradona explained that such signings in the past have come back to haunt the club.

“As for Daniel Addo also, the former King Faisal, Ghana U-20 and Black Stars defender; we told his female rep we want him to come to training but we have heard he’s moved on to Accra.

“We’ve signed similar players in the past and we ended up not benefiting so if such a player believes in his abilities, he must train with the team first and if we are satisfied, he gets a deal with us.”

Footy-Ghana can confirm Daniel Addo trained with Hearts of Oak on Tuesday morning.
