Conti-Katanga engage in stone throwing battle in the heat of SRC elections

knust logoMembers of the University Hall (Katanga) and Unity Hall(Continentals) clashed after the KNUST’s SRC elections yesterday.

The stone throwing fight started as an expression of support for members of the two halls garnering for positions.

The fight occurred at the Royal Parade Grounds of the University.

Four members of the University Hall were Presidential candidates in the election while the Unity Hall had one contestant for the same position.

The existing rivalry between the two male halls seem to have pushed what could have been a harmless cheering of their respective candidates into a stone throwing affair. Though eye witnesses say there were casualties rawgist.com could not independently identify them.

Meanwhile information reaching rawgist.com is that the candidate from the Unity Hall has been named President elect after counting.

It remains unclear if the announcement will bring calm between students of the two halls.

  1. Surely students have more important things to do than throwing stones at each other; like studying and achieving the best possible exam results.

I suppose most of the students involved would claim they are Christians……so much for “neighbourly love” then eh?

Wake up guys and start dealing with the real issues of life. I thought you would have left stone throwing behind long ago!
