Choose credible people at polls-Regional Organizer hopeful appeals

An Ashanti Regional Organizer hopeful, Mr Francis Adomako has asked card bearing members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect persons with impeccable and credible backgrounds at the impending polling station, constituency, regional and national elections.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper over the weekend, Mr Adomako, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) noted the importance of the NPP to present credible people to lead the party if the public are to take them serious.

According to him, the Ghanaian electorate has become sophisticated and cannot be swayed to vote for persons with criminal or dubious backgrounds.

The public, he insisted are expecting the best from persons who intend to contest for positions at the regional or national levels and so the need to present people with credible records.

‘’Let’s examine those of us who are seeking to contest the upcoming internal elections so that we can sieve through and present credible persons ahead of the 2020 general elections’’, Mr Adomako urged.

SCRUTINY:
Mr Adomako charged prospective delegates at the upcoming elections to scrutinize the backgrounds of candidates that will be coming out to contest for various positions in the party.

He stressed a rigorous scrutiny by them would help to bring out the best out of those contesting for positions in the NPP.

Many others who have served faithfully in the past as party executives, Mr Adomako noted should be assessed further if the knowledge they have can still be useful for the party as it prepares for the 2020 general elections.

According to him, some people may seek to lure delegates with money to vote for them in the upcoming polls but cautioned delegates to remember the party has 2020 polls to fight for with those they elect.

‘’Leadership is not about the highest bidder or who can shout the loudest but morals and character’’, the KNUST lecturer posited.

COMMENDATION:
Mr Adomako commended past party officers of the NPP, including members of the council of elders and electoral officers for blazing the trail and leading the party with good morals.

These traits, the lecturer and current Asokwa Constituency Organizer believes when emulated will serve the party well as it re-groups to elect leaders who will steer the affairs of the party in the next four years.
