Bekwai hospital, others remain uncompleted due to financial constraint

mahamaConstruction work on the new Bekwai Government Hospital undertaken by the government has stalled due to lack of funds.

Rawgist.com gathered more such projects from its investigations of government projects. Other projects left hanging include classroom blocks for Fomena Nurses Training College and the electrification project in the Amansie Central District of Ashanti Region.

President John Mahama during a speech to the electorate prior to the 2012 assured them the projects would be completed within a short period.Government has however failed to release funds for work to resume on the projects.

The Late President John Atta Mills cut the sod for the commencement of the Bekwai hospital as part of efforts to address the health needs of the people in and around Bekwai.

The $16 million project is being financed by the Government of Ghana (GoG), African Development Bank (AfDB) and ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development.
