Yendi – Konkomba chiefs deny knowledge of any war, reaffirm their loyalty to Ya-Naa

A group of Konkomba chiefs led by the chief of Saboba UCHABOBOR-BOWAN MATEER JOHN SOKOJIM IV have called on the King and overlord of Dagbon Ya-Na Abukari II at the Gbewaa Palace.

Presenting their mission to the King, the chief of Saboba UCHABOBOR-BOWAN MATEER JOHN SOKOJIM IV on behalf of the Konkomba chiefs denied any knowledge of the rumours on an eminent war between Dagombas and Konkombas. He stated that the Konkomba chiefs have never met to discuss any war and will never be part of any war.

He indicated that the common enemies both Dagombas and Konkombas need to fight are poverty, illiteracy, lack of education, inadequate drinking water among other developmental challenges.

They reaffirm their loyalty to Naa Gbewaa and indicated that under no circumstances can Konkombas engage Dagombas in a war as they’re both brothers.

He cautioned people who are engaged in war mongering to desist from it as the security would not spare any miscreants.

The King and overlord of Dagbon Ya-Na Abukari II expressed his gratitude to the Konkomba chiefs for their visit and reminded them that Dagbon includes many tribes One which is Konkombas.

He reminded them that a vow was taken by both tribes not to engage in any war after the 1994 conflict and that any tribe that seeks to begin a conflict will be left to the gods and ancestors.
