Wontumi is not a threat to our 1million votes under my watch – Joseph Yammin

chairman-wontumiThe Deputy Ashanti Regional minister, Joseph Yammin has debunked a story posted on peacefmonline on 21st November quoting Hon. Muntaka Mohammed Member of Parliament for Asawase constituency, saying that “Chairman Bernard Antwi Bosiako (Wontumi) poses a great challenge to the party recording the over a million votes they have prided themselves with in the region”.

The minister said that was a misquotation and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

“Yes he mentioned Wontumi’s name but never said it was going to be a difficult task, that was during the regional conference but he’s been misquoted really. The fact that somebody’s name is mentioned doesn’t mean he is a feared force”.

He added that once he was named by NPP regional organizer as a threat to their capturing of power but that doesn’t suggest that his presence will decline their votes.

“Don’t jubilate because Muntaka mentioned Wontumi’s name, it will be a big mistake. Wontumi is not a headache at all , we are considering how best we can strategize and move ahead”.

He also emphasized  the government will ensure peace, and that there is no incident of double voting during the next election which he tips President Mahama to win hands down.
