Wassa Amenfi West District is broke-DCE

wassa-amenfi-westThe District Chief Executive (DCE) of Wassa Amenfi West District in the Western region,Hon Samuel Victor Meisu is lamenting the gargantuan financial challenges  his district faces.

He attributes the difficulties to tax evasion by residents in the district. He cites property rate defaulters as a major group posing a challenge to the financial fortunes of the Wassa Amenfi West District. He believes the lack of evaluation officers at the assembly is not helping matters.

The District Chief Executive however says measures are being deliberated on how to collect taxes more efficiently.

He itemized some of the Assembly’s achievements in spite of the financial constraints to Sir Richmond Antwi Boasiako on Royal fm’s morning show. He says the Assembly has done particularly well in the areas of water provision, waste management, road maintenance, health and the provision of educational facilities.

He thanked Samartex Timber and Plywood Company for their immense contribution to the development of the Wassa Amenfi West District.
