James Gunu at his vetting to become Volta Regional Minister
Volta Regional Minister-Designate, James Gunu, says bad roads are a bane to the development of tourism in the Volta region.
James Gunu who was speaking at his vetting before the appointments Committee on Thursday lamented that the majority of these places of tourism are difficult to reach due to poor road conditions.
To this end, he promised to work closely with the Ministries of Tourism as well as Roads to improve access to tourist sites within the region.
Hon. James Gunu believes tourism holds a lot of economic promise for the volta region and should not be taken lightly.
“Fortunately, we have our honourable Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Hon, Abla Dzifa Gomashie who is going to the Tourism Ministry. It is my duty as the regional minister to collaborate with her and also to collaborate with the Roads Minister because many of these tourist sites need to be accessible.
“I will work with these two ministers to ensure that we enhance tourism in the Volta Region,” he said. END
