UTAG strikes

STRIKESTRIKEMembers of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) have laid down their tools starting today, August 6.

The teachers are unhappy with government for delaying to pay their 2014/2015 Book and Research Allowances.They have vowed to stay away from work until government effects
payment of their arrears.

rawgist.com hinted Tuesday of a forthcoming UTAG strike within days. Currently, Medical Doctors, Members of the Teachers and Educational workers’ Union as well as some
pharmacists are also on strike.

The University teachers say they want nothing short of an immediate payment.
