The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and host of “The Agenda” on Tanga Radio 93.7FM a local radio station in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East region, Agana Bawa Rashid has joined the list of media personalities entering active partisan politics under the ticket of the largest opposition Party in Ghana, the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
He tells rawgist.com he has worked with the larger grassroots in the constituency and is confident securing the seat will improve the living conditions of the Youth in the constituency since they constitute the largest segment of the population.
Mr. Bawa said the current Member of Parliament for Bolga Central constituency on the ticket of the NDC, Hon Opam Brown has not lived up to expectation and needed to be changed.
He is confident his media experience will help him overcome all hurdles and solve the problems the residents face.
The CEO’s emergence brings to five the number of media persons who have shown interest in various parliamentary seats ahead of the primaries of the two rival political parties, NPP and NDC across the country.
He is currently in the race with three other persons who have also shown interest in the Bolga Central Parliamentary seat within the NPP.
Mr. Agana tells rawgist.com his contenders “are also good people but if I am given the mandate, am confident the NPP will win the seat”.
He believes the sitting MP’s incompetence makes the constituency a swing one which the NPP could grab.
