Robert Eshun fun club gives to the needy

Ghana News-The Robert Eshun Fun Club, a Kumasi based group last Monday donated food items and toiletries to the Rhemar Ghana Charity and Rehabilitation Home in Patasi, a suburb of the Kumasi Metropolis.

The donation formed part of the group’s core values to give back to the society that helped to shape their lives.

Presenting the items on behalf of the 25 member group, Mr Steven Asare, Interim Chairman for the Club expressed delight at the opportunity God has given them to give to support the needy.

According to him, having realized the need at the home during a visit recently, the group decided to give to support the needy children who are being raised at the place.

‘’We decided to give to Rhemar by virtue of its proximity to us and this being our first donation we needed to start at a home close to our settings because charity they say begins at home’’, Mr Asare posited.

PLANS:

Mr Asare outlined plans by his group to visit other needy homes and outfits in the metropolis to extend a hand of support when resources become available.

This, he noted is to ensure at least they bring some form of comfort and smiles to the faces of the needy, deprived and destitute in the society.

The group, Mr Asare revealed was formed to celebrate the life of Robert Eshun, a famous former Asante Kotoko Football player.

Having been established in 2003, the Interim Chairman said it intends to carry out more social as well as charitable ventures to support the needy.

‘’We intend to do more charity and voluntary work so that we keep our group’s objectives and vision active at all times’’, Mr Asare intimated.

HOME LEADER:

Receiving the items on behalf of the Home, Modest Dartey, Deputy Director at the Rhemar Ghana- Patasi branch thanked the Fun Club for the gesture.

He noted the donation is timely considering they have had to rely on such benevolent acts from the public to keep the kids in good conditions.

The Home which caters for needy and mentally unstable kids from 6-14, he revealed has its main benefactors from Spain but the items they supply are not enough to support many of its outlets in Ghana.

He, therefore, urged the public especially residents in Kumasi to help them reconstruct the ceiling at the home which is falling off, noting the kids could be affected by its collapse.
