Real leaders carry vision but not propaganda-Mama Pat jabs Mahama

Madam Patricia Appiagyei, MP for Asokwa.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Madam Patricia Appiagyei says it is simplistic for John Mahama, a former President of Ghana to seek power with promises that have the semblance of propaganda.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper Monday morning, the Asokwa MP wondered the kind of advice the former President was receiving to assume that Ghanaians would be swayed by his shallow promises.

Mama Pat said unlike the NDC flag-bearer, the current President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had a plan set out since 2008 and was determined to follow same. According to the Asokwa legislator, the vision of making secondary school education free of charge was something the President had in a blueprint form. ‘’Real leaders like Nana Addo always have a plan in mind and they don’t just open their mouths to say something they have not thought deeply and soberly about’’, the Asokwa MP stressed.

UPCOMING ELECTIONS:

Touching on the upcoming general elections, Madam Appiagyei said she was confident the NPP would be retained in government and as well as its majority presence in the legislative assembly of Parliament because of the work the party had done. She noted that the massive economic and infrastructural work including social intervention projects the NPP had done in a little over 3 years put in it in good stead to be retained in government for another four years.

The Asokwa constituency, she revealed had also seen better development in its state than what the NDC subjected it to when they had power in 8 years from 2009 to 2016. With several road constructions ongoing in communities like Nahiniso, Bokro, Rabbi, Afanko, Fabi, Dompoase, Atonsu, Ahensan and Ako junction with asphalt overlay at Asokwa extension and other parts of Asokwa, the Asokwa MP noted that Asokwa will look upon same and vote massively for her to return to Parliament to lobby for more projects.

‘’We in the NPP are confident that the people of Ghana would once again give us four more years as government so that we can complete the projects we promised and are busily delivering one after the other’’, Mama Pat stated.

COMMENDATION:

Madam Appiagyei commended the Asokwa Municipal Chief Executive,Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah as well as the staff at the Assembly for displaying excellence in their output.

She was happy that the Assembly had scored 98% rating in the social accountability module for MMDDAs, adding that monetary rewards from that area as well as from the secondary city projects would enable the municipality achieve rapid development.

The female legislator urged the elected assembly members as well as staff of the Assembly to cooperate fully in discharging duties and mandates on their tables so as to bring tangible development to Asokwa.

She was happy the Assembly had been able to elect a Presiding Member (PM) after several failed attempts and commended the chiefs as well as the elected and appointed members for such a feat.

‘’I am happy I have a workaholic and development oriented MCE who is being supported by selfless staff as well as committed assembly members and chiefs and it is no wonder Asokwa is doing well in all aspects of the local government system’’, Madam Appiagyei boasted.
