Kumasi based Radio star Kwame “Scientific” Poku has left Solid 103.7 FM for the newest station in the Ashanti regional capital; YFM 107.9MHz.
Kwame, whose exit left many surprised tells rawgist.com he had a great time at solid fm but felt the time was ripe for a fresh challenge and an opportunity to speak and relate more to the youth.”I think I can better do that on the YFM brand”, he said.
The young broadcaster who couldn’t hide his excitement believes joining the YFM brand is the beginning of big things in his radio career.
He also appealed to his fans to continue supporting him as they have always done and promised to keep serving them to the best of his abilities.
YFM’s presence on the Kumasi radio scene seem to have given several English language oriented stations a heavy knock as many presenters are deserting their stations in favour of the new brand.
rawgist.com can also confirm that NYDJ who used to be with Kapital radio as well as Mahoney of Solid FM have all switched camps to YFM, Kumasi.
Many young people interviewed from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology were also nursing high expectations of the new brand and indicated they will listen to new station for youth-tailored entertainment.
