President Mahama sacks COP Tiwaa as Executive Director of EOCO

President John Dramani Mahama has terminated COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah’s appointment as the Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).

Speaker of Parliament; Alban Bagbin, said COP Addo-Danquah has been instructed to hand over her duty and return to the Ghana Police Headquarters for reassignment.

The directive comes amidst efforts by the government to restructure EOCO, an agency tasked with investigating and prosecuting economic crimes and corruption.

Before her appointment to EOCO, COP Addo-Danquah served as Director-General of the Police Professional and Standards Bureau.

She joined the Ghana Police Service in 1990 and is known for being the first woman commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College in Winneba.
