MTN storms village, take over school

Telecommunication giant; MTN, Friday stormed the village of Brodekwano in a convoy of yellow cars packed with books for the  the school pupils of the town.

Staff of MTN in the Ashanti region, after a ceremony to donate the books took over the classrooms and started reading with and teaching the kids. Many of the children where excited and answered questions posed by the staff of MTN.

General Manager of MTN in charge of the Northern sector; James Bukari Basintale explained to rawgist.com that June of every year marks a celebration call Y’ello Care during which all MTN workers the world over do various volunteer activities for the good of mankind. He also explains that for several years, Y’ello care has focused on education.

He believes that MTN’s gesture will encourage the youngsters to learn and develop in knowledge for their own future and the future of the nation.

The chief of the area as well as the headmaster of the school were deeply touched and expressed great appreciation to MTN whiles at the same time asking that MTN continues to bring in more goodies.

The Krontihene for the town also complained about the lack of computers in the school and appealed to MTN to help them with computers to enable the pupils gain computer skills.
