The huge award ceremony saw many walking out of the plush Golden Tulip Kumasi City with television sets, kiosks, motorbikes, fully sponsored trips to Dubai and ultimately a brand new car.

This year’s award coincided with the 10th anniversary of MTN MoMo; an occasion that made the celebration more special.

MTN MoMo has helped revolutionized the financial inclusion landscape in Ghana since its introduction into Ghana some ten years ago.

Insurance cover

Fraud and armed robbery has however become a major headache for Merchants and Agents; a situation that has led MTN to work on an insurance cover for MoMo operators.

All the awardees rawgist.com spoke to were excited about the idea of an insurance cover and could not wait to be a part of it.  They praised MTN for the idea.

Mr. Simon Amo; Senior Manager for General Trade, MTN Northern Sector used the opportunity to advise Mobile Money users to be fraud-conscious and never compromise their PINs. He also advised MoMo users to go into their menus and change their PINs when they suspect it’s been compromised. “The only number MTN will call you on if you have won any promotion will be 0244300000” he stressed.

Ultimate winner

The Ultimate winner; Francis Osei of Franco Prestige ventures at Ahodwo recounted how he started from humble beginnings seven years ago and expressed heartfelt appreciation to MTN for the recognition. He believes his hard work has paid off eventually and encouraged other agents to work hard and treat customers with respect.

As the Ultimate winner, he drove home a brand new Hyundai saloon car.

Whiles there was a lot to eat and drink, highlife Musician Rex Omar was also there to get some dance out of the crowd.
