Minister cautions boards against embezzlement

Alhaji Collins DaudaAlhaji Collins Dauda, Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, has cautioned Water and Sanitation Management Boards to desist from embezzling state funds, describing the act as unacceptable.

He said the Board members should rather devote themselves to the service of the state and not their selfish interests.

He said proceeds from the sale of water must be used to among others; maintain the facility, in order to prevent over the reliance on government for maintenance funds.

Alhaji Dauda gave the warning when he ended a three-day working visit to the Brong Ahafo Region, where he inspected completed and ongoing rural water projects there.

The Minister’s visit took him to some small towns, including Babatokuma, Busunya, Dadiesoaba Nakaseim, Fetentaa, Nanasuano and Nsapor.

He assured the communities he visited that the government would address the challenges of small-town water supply system to improve the quality of life of the people.

The chiefs and elders of the towns the Minister visited promised to partner with the government to push the development agenda forward.
