Mahama appoints Charlotte Osei, 8 others to Ghana Gas Board

Former Electoral Commission Chairperson, Charlotte Osei, has been appointed to the board of Ghana National Gas Limited Company (GNGLC) as part of a new leadership team announced by President John Dramani Mahama.

The newly constituted nine-member board is tasked with steering the state-owned gas company through its next phase of transformation and improved performance in the energy sector.

The board will be chaired by Mr. Kofi Totobi Quakyi, a seasoned public administrator, whose leadership is expected to bring stability and vision to the company. Other members include Judith Adjobah Blay (Acting CEO), Emmanuel Vincent, Nasira Afrah Gyekye (MP), Samuel Kwame Borlu, Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, Baba Abdul Jamal Adama, and Blay Nyameke Armah (MP).

In a press statement issued on April 30, Ghana Gas welcomed the new appointments and expressed confidence in the board’s ability to guide the company’s strategic direction. “We are optimistic that this new Board will help improve operations, resolve industry challenges, and maintain high standards,” the statement read.

The board’s formation comes at a time of increasing public demand for efficiency, transparency, and accountability in Ghana’s energy sector, making its role both timely and critical.
