Kpando youth rally for development and unity through Easter activities

In their quest to fast-track the development of their community, some industrious youth of Kpando in the Volta region joined hands to undertake an educational seminar during the Easter festivities.

The Seminar which was on the theme “Grooming the future leader to be a generational thinker” drew over 500 Junior High School pupils from Konda, Dzoanti, Gadza and Agudzi.

Some of the speakers at the seminar were Mr. Mensah Courage a senior finance officer at Volta regional hospital, Mavis Serwa Asiemoah (Esq); a lawyer and private legal practitioner, Mr. Isaac Newton Nyagbe; Co-founder Akpini volunteers and Miss Patience Adzordor; a social worker.

Study materials including exercise books, pen, pencils and mathematical sets were also donated to the participants to help them with their studies.

The programme which was organized by Salamta Army in collaboration with Kpando Konda for Development also had some fun components for both the school children and the adults.

There were games like draughts, cards, ludu and bouncy castle.

Later in the day, a huge football gala drew the various communities to the football field where speedup 11(defending champions) were walloped by the home team; Konda All Stars by 4 goals to nil.

The day was crowned by musical performances from BradaYawda, Boyphlava, Redda and Diwema; all popular musicians who hail from the region.

Mr. Prince Selorm; one of the organizers of the event stressed that the event has continued to grow from strength to strength since its inception in 2016. He says people look forward to it every Easter and it is indeed bringing the youth of Kpando together for development.
