Joseph Albert Quarm; MP for Manso Nkwanta
Member of Parliament for Manso Nkwanta constituency in the Ashanti region says his life is being threatened after he took up a campaign against illegal mining in the area.
Mr. Albert Joseph Quarm affectionately known as Prof. Quarm revealed in an interview with Oyerepa FM that he has been shot at and missed three times.
He recounts that efforts to take his live began in 2012. He however says the death threats and attempts will not push him off his campaign against illegal mining.
He believes the reforms put in place will empower local content mining in the country and inure to the benefit of the Ghanaians.
Meanwhile, Mr. Albert Joseph Quarm has patted the Minerals Commission on the back for proposing that mining firms be made to construct roads within their area of operations.
