Gov’t is deceiving Ghanaians with galamsey fight-NDC Communicator

A communicator for the National Democratic Congress, says the NPP is only shifting the playing field as far as their fight against illegal mining is concerned.

The NPP government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has stated his commitment to the fight against illegal mining and a lot seem to be going on as far as fighting the menace is concerned.

Kwame Atuah Patrick however believes the government is some ways is only paying lip service to the fight.

“Our sources have disclosed to us that the picture that is being painted by government officials as if no galamsey activities are currently ongoing in the country is false.”

“The reality on grounds is that the poor men have been sacrificed to pave way for the “Big men” to enjoy. Our checks indicate that the ban has only worked on those whose concessions are on the road side but deep down in the forest people are mining illegally daily especially party faithfuls of the ruling party”.

Kwame Atuah Patrick further accuses some government officials of conniving with some “rich galamsey operators and are allowing them to mine inside the forest, whiles the poor man in his village has been banned indefinitely from making his daily bread”.

He wants the government to stop deceiving the people and fight the menace that continues to threaten the very existence of residents in mining localities.
